Déjà vu?

On March 6, 2008, I posted this..."Sad News in the NFL". By the start of the 2008-2009 season, Brett Favre had come out of retirement and was ready to start the season on his new team, the New York Jets.
Football fans all across the country got to watch this amazing player for one more season. But alas, once again I woke to the sad news....

Favre to call it quits -- again -- after 18 seasons
Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Brett Favre informed the New York Jets on Wednesday he will retire after 18 seasons, ending a record-setting career in which he was one of the NFL's premier quarterbacks.
The 39-year-old instructed agent James "Bus" Cook to tell the team of his decision, six weeks after Favre's only season with the Jets ended in disappointment as New York
failed to make the playoffs.
In an e-mail to ESPN, Favre said he has no regrets about ending his career in New York and praised owner Woody Johnson, general manager Mike Tannenbaum and fired coach Eric Mangini. You can finish reading this article here at NFL.com.
You can check Brett Favre's Career Highlights and Career Statistics, and see for yourself this man's phenomenal career.

Thanks Brett for 18 amazing years!

Sad News in the NFL

I live in SW Ohio, am a die hard Bengal's fan and have never lived in Greenbay WI. However, I loved watching Brett Favre play football (Greenbay Packers QB). He played with the spirit and excitement of a young boy. His career was amazing, the stats tell the story; 61,655 Passing Yards - NFL Record; 5,377 Completions - NFL Record; 442 Touchdown Passes - NFL Record, 160 Career Wins - NFL Record, 3-time NFL MVP - NFL Record, 253 Consecutive Starts NFL Record (QB), 1 Super Bowl Win, 9-time Pro Bowl Selection.

Today Brett made the tearful annoucement that he was retiring from football (you can watch Favre's press conference on NFL.com). I think most people in the football world was surprised. His talent and attitude will be remembered forever.

Like Brett said in his news conference "All good things must come to an end".
Thanks Brett for 17 amazing years!
