Leftover Rice!

Audrey loves plain rice! Actually any kind of rice. She likes to have it as a snack. But rice isn't really a quick snack! Unless you already have it on hand!

It's easy to do. When ever you make rice, make extra.

Put freezer wrap into a perfect size bowl or muffin tins work great!

Fill it,

press it,

wrap it!

I usually put another layer of freezer wrap,

then into a freezer bag with the contents and date written on it!

Ta-da , next time you or someone wants rice for lunch or a snack. (Great in a packed lunch too, if there's a microwave) Pull one out & throw it into the microwave. Everyone's microwave is different but start with 2-3 mins. Squish the ball of rice around (CAUTION it will be very hot at some point!)

Audrey's Birthday Celebration Part II

The Sunday after Audrey's birthday (Sun. April 15th) we had the family celebration at Granny & Grandpa's. There you also get to pick what you want to eat for lunch and what kind of cake & ice cream you'd like to have.

Audrey, of course, chose 'Grandpa burgers' (as every grandchild does), yellow cake with 'whipped' icing & vanilla ice cream.

Avery was excited to see her big sister Britainy!
The little cousins ready to 'help' with the presents

Surprise! Everyone chipped in and got her a really nice skateboard. She's wanted one for a long time!

The deck.

The wheels.

Sunflowers on the cake.

As usual, getting help!
Everyone is singing! Even Ali, the dog, he loves to sing to 'Happy Birthday'!
Mat, our expert skateboarder! He did the picking out the parts & putting it all together!
Thanks Mat!

It's all together!

Grandpa keeping her steady for the first time stepping on it!

The practicing starts...
She had a great birthday!
Thanks everyone!

First Part of April's Update!

The beginning of April found us at my Mom & Dad's.
Which meant not only being with them but Ali and then Janie on 4 days of the week!
Ali relaxing after Janie left one evening!
Janie making Ali play dress-up too!
Cousins - Audrey & Janie both having cereal. Did you notice they are sitting like twins?
Cousins - Janie & Avery chatting in Granny & Grandpa's backyard!
Look at Janie' yellow nose! Now that's some pollen!
On the Third Mitzi came by with Avery to see Granny & Grandpa & to let Avery play with Janie!
Of course the girls love to swing!
Avery changed out of her princess dress to swing!

Janie always has her baby and little dog!
April 5th was the Cincinnati Reds opening day! My niece Britainy and her beau Mat was going to the game so she wanted to show her fan spirit, so she had Mr. Redlegs airbrushed onto her baby belly.
They got so much attention! She made it onto the jumbotron, and three times on one of the local news station's coverage of the game!

Of course we thought she look adorable!
Daisy stayed with us while they were at the game!
~♥~

Janie's snack - yummy apple!
I'm just adding another cute one of Ali!

Animals

Since October I have had three posts about our strange visitors. You can reminisce here, here, and here.

We spotted this falcon just sitting in one of our trees in the backyard. In a tree right next to this one, we have a squirrels nest. It was quite funny watching the squirrels peeking out of there nest every few minutes to see if the falcon had left.

The falcon stayed for awhile, I guess he was taking an afternoon siesta!
We figured it was a Peregrine falcon that flew to our yard from downtown for a little "country" break from the city (even though we live in the city limits).

Here I've zoomed in closer! It does look like a Peregrine falcon.

A Little Tour Around Our Tree

We'll start at the top! What's at the top of your tree? A star, a bow, an angel?
We have a star, I think it's the most beautiful star ever!

I love putting up the ornaments, it's such a wonderful trip down memory lane!

There's a couple reminding us of our trip to Disney,

and our daughter's 1st Christmas!

We have nostalgic lights from my hubby's childhood!

Cute silly reminder of his navy days.

Beautiful handmade ones made by my dear Granny (miss you so much Granny)!

Another one for our baby's 1st Christmas!

One with the TRUE meaning of CHRISTmas!

Everything is bright and sparkly!

Even ones supporting our team!

Must have my favorite color :-)!

These little snowmen lightbulb covers are so cute! They were a gift
a long time ago!

Of course I could never show you everything here on my blog!
You'd have to see it in person, but here's the next best thing!

Christmas Eve is just a week away! Wow, where did the time go?
